Hunter Quynh Saxton

Hunter Quynh Saxton is an artist and designer living in Chicago IL. In 2020, he received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute where he studied ceramics and developed digital fabrication skills which are heavily used in his practice. Through furniture design, sculpture, and tile, Hunter’s work focuses on the poetics and potential functions of incorporating ceramics with woodworking. His most recent work combines extruded ceramic cladding with wood inlay marquetry as a means of experimenting with surface design as well as the connotation of superficiality and artifice related to facade, veneer and human motive.
